"Pymander and Hermes" Original Painting

Measuring 46"x46", this acrylic on canvas work is a surrealist rendering of Hermes meeting Pymander from the corpus hermeticum. During his solitary wandering through a rocky, desolate area, Hermes followed a secret Temple teaching to access his higher consciousness and gain insight into the transcendental spheres. He then came across a majestic Great Dragon- symbolizing the Universal Life- that addressed him and asked why he pondered the World Mystery. At the sight of the dominating creature, Hermes humbly bowed and implored it to reveal its identity; it declared itself Poimandres, the Mind of the Universe.
